Weekly Update: 5th November 2016

Division 1 Week 37 – Wetherill Park – 5 November

The division bowled 12 pins over average at Wetherill Park with a record 75 200 games and 20 600+ series. The high game went to Shane Bond with 299, which he paired with a 279 and 268. Mark Ward also bowled a 279, Warren Cockerill 264, Chris Bateup 258, Glenn Rowland 256, William Macrohon 255, Josh Vanderkolk and Dean Ainsworth 248 and Kristain Asquith and Shane Bro wn 247. The big news was Shane Bond’s 846 series, breaking a 12 year old record of 826 held by Michael Campbell, bowled at Castle Hill in 2004. Kristain bowled a 686, Chris 685, Glenn 668, Alan Shephard 664, Josh 662, Alex Sole 655, John Dowton 648, Warren Cockerill 647, Chris Hampshire 636, Shane Brown 624 and Darryl Burton 623. The ladies high game went to Leigh Shephard 235, Sarah Heath with 227 and 223, Trudy Gould 215, Meaghan Curtis 212, Sandra Stanshall 208, Jodie Terry 207, Janelle Crass 206, Amy Brown and Kayleen Watts 205 and Meg Abdilla, Hayley Fisher and Janice Edwards 204. The series went to Sarah 625, Janelle 601, Trudy 593, Amy 587, Meaghan and Kayleen 577, Rosalind Dowton 563, Jodie 551, Sandra 550 and Leigh 548.

Leaders Strathfield Sandbaggers won 13-6 and extended their lead to 7 points as Campbelltown Cougars lost 12-7 to Wetherill Park Phoenix. 3rd place Wetherill Park Guns moved within 3 points of 2nd, despite losing 10-9 to Wetherill Park Bandits while 4th place Lidcombe Lightning remained in the same position despite losing 14-5 to Mittagong Reapers. Fairfield Bruises won 16-3, Windsor 9 or Better 12-7 while Lidcombe Rumble scored 17 on the bye. The high game went to Reapers 1060 & 1021, Gosford Gremlins 1056, Phoenix 1052 & 1004, Sandbaggers 1047, Bruises 1025 & 1024, Bandits 1014, Bowlarama Hotshots 1007 and Guns 1004. The series went to Reapers 3038, Bruises 2993 and Phoenix 2991.

Division 2 Week 33 – Gosford – 5 November

The division bowled just above average at Gosford with 33 200 games and 8 600 series. The high game went to Garry Graham 247, Ray Dillon 246, Ray Vandine 245, Michael Burrows 243, Joe Wrublewski 235, reserve Bob Cohen 234, Jared Kirkland 233, Dave Stenstra 230 and Wolf Miller and Joe again 226. The series went to Joe 675, Wolf 653, Jared 630, Ray Dillon 624, Dave 620, Michael Campbell 608, Bob 604, Garry 603, reserve Adrian Booy 598, Les Dunn 597 and Ray Vandine 591. Th e ladies high game went to Madison McCooey 198, Margaret Rogers 193, Rebeccanne Farr 190, Carol Stenstra 186, Leonie Ince 180, Sandra Burchall 179, reserve Nicky Foster 172, Merle Turner 169, Kay Ginger 168 and Margaret again 167. The series went to Margaret 514, followed by Madison 499, Rebeccanne 496, Leonie 490, Carol and Sandra 465, Kay 454, Nicky 453, Sheree Kellard 448 and Melissa Webb 445.

Leaders Windsor Wanderers won 11-8, but had their lead cut to 6½ points as Campbelltown Alleygators won 13-6. 3rd place Bowlarama Alleycatz won 12-7, while Lidcombe Lyrebirds won 13-6. Western Warriors won 11-8 as did Tenpin City Bandits. The high game went to Strathfield Superstrikers 959, followed by Strathfield Sharks 956 and Warriors 929. The series went to Lyrebirds 2638, Warriors 2631 and Alleycatz 2605.

Division 3 Week 33 – Gosford – 5 November

The division bowled average at Gosford with 15 200 games and 2 600 series. The high game went to Mark Ellison 255, followed by Bob Quinn 236, John Carrer 213, Mark again 212, Phil Spender 211, Nick Frost 210, Bob Greenwood and Chris Prince 209, Bob Quinn again 205 and Bruce Worrell and Matt Burchell 203. The series went to Mark 641, Bob Quinn 634, Joe Luca 568, Phil 557, Brad Cook 551, John 550, Robert Kelly 549, Tony Sutton 548, Nick 537 and Chris 536. The ladies high game went to Julie Strickland 212, followed by reserve Louise Kelly 196, Debbie van der Meer 192 & 189, Pam Russell 183, Marianne Keith 181, Lorraine Hazelwood 179, Angela Francis 178, Debbie again and Marianne again 168 and Janine Hendry 166. Leaders Wetherill Park All Stars won 13-6 and extended their lead to 8 points as Strathfield Saints scored 12 ½. Bowlarama Lollipops won 12-7 as did 4th place Fairfield Drag ons. Gosford Giants won 14-5 and Windsor Bushrangers scored 13½ on the bye. The high game went to Windsor Wonders 888, Giants 883 and Saints 869. The series went to Dragons 2499, Giants 2497 and Saints 2489.
