Div 1 Week 3 – Wetherill Park – 14 Feb
The division bowled 8½ pins over average at Wetherill Park with 44 200 games and 9 600 series. The high game went to reserve Phil Sachs with 278 followed by Phil Meurant 275, Phil Sachs again 268, David Knott 257, Paul Katar 247, Chris Bateup 246 and Alan Shephard 242. The series went to Phil Sachs 712, followed by Phil Meurant 689, Simon Millman and David Knott 667, reserve Alex Sole 665, Paul 639, Chris 626, Rodney Kitley 610 and Brad Searle 608. The ladies high game went to Monique Rusin 256, followed by Trudy Gould 242, Annette Bateup 232, Janelle Crass 226, Sarah Heath 212, Kayleen Watts 211, Michelle Simmonds 207 and Leigh Shephard 230. Leaders Wetherill Park Bandits extended their lead to 6½ points winning 13-6 over 3rd place Bateau Bay Reaper Crew, while 2nd place Lidcombe Lightning were beaten 12-7 by Mittagong Warriors. Equal 4th place holders both won with Campbelltown Cougars scoring 14 to move into 2nd spot and Wetherill Park Phoenix 13½ to take 3rd while 6th spot Tenpin City Tomahawks scored 14 to move up to claim 4th spot. The high game went to Bandits with an impressive 1118, while Cougars scored 1060 and Tomahawks 1035. The series went to Bandits 3106, followed by Tomahawks 2940 and Warriors 2895.

The division bowled ½ pin over average at Windsor with 45 200 games and 7 600 series. The high game went to Garry Graham 246, followed by Steve Fairbairn 245, Dave Anderson 244, Ray Dillon 241, Steve again 236, Les Dunn 233 and Chris Greaves 229. The series went to Steve 668, Jared Kirkland 657, Garry 656, Ray 654, Les 627, Leon Keith 609 and Derek Kellard 606. The ladies high game went to Nicky Foster with an impressive 245 followed by Madison McCooey 204, Rose Lucas and Madison again 203, Leonie Ince 200, Annette Simmonds 198 and Evelyn O’Donnell 187. The series went to Madison 590, Nicky 547, Leonie 520, Rose 516, Dallas Archer 495, Annette 488 and Melissa Webb 479.
Leaders Tenpin Terriers played 3rd place Windsor Wizards and won a close game 10-9 with Bowlarama Alley Catz winning another close game 11-8 against last year’s champions to share the lead with Terriers. 3rd place Tenpin City Bandits lost 14-5 to Western Warriors dropping to 9th spot as Warriors moved up 2 spots to 3rd place. The high game went to Wizards with 1029 followed by Warriors 963 and Terriers 957. The series went to Wizards 2786 just ahead of Terriers 2783 and Warriors 2706.

The division bowled 7 pins under average with 11 200 games and 1 600 series. The high game went to William Scheers 224, Daniel Prince 221, reserve Matthew Smith 215, Matthew Jeffress 212, Paul Hudson 204, Nathan Bracey 203, Matthew Jeffress again 202, Chris Prince 201 and Bruce Worrell 200. The series went to Matthew Jeffress 612, followed by Paul 584, Chris 581, Mark Ellison 574, Matthew Smith 567, Daniel 556, Nathan 555 and Richard Malcolm 554. The ladies high game went to Angela Francis 213, Janine Hendry 201, Alice Dwyer 188, reserve Tracy Hodgson 179, Sandra Ashton and Alice again 177 and Lorraine Hazelwood 176. The series went to Alice 507, Angela 498, Janine 496, Tracy 491 and Sandra 489.
Leaders Strathfield Saints won 13- but Liverpool Lions closed to within 3 points scoring 14½. 3rd place Lidcombe Grimreapers scored 12 but dropped to 4th as Wetherill Park All Stars scored a shock 19-0 against Bateau Bay Buddhas to jump up 5 places to 3rd spot. 4th place Strathfield Dragons played 5th place Campbelltown City Chiefs and lost 13-6 as the teams swapped relative positions. The other big winner on the day was Bowlarama Mixed Bag with 14 moving of bottom position up to 9th. The high game went to Chiefs with 965 followed by All Stars 887 and Mixed Bag 870. The series went to Chiefs 2659, followed by Dragons 2497 and All Stars 2495.
